I am the President of a local PTO of a high school in New Jersey. Every year, our biggest fundraiser is a raffle which brings in approximately $13,000, which funds our Project Graduation . We mail home a book of raffle tickets to every family in the school, and have been very successful for the past few years.
However, this year our school told us that they are not allowed to give us the address labels of all the students in the school, based on a new state law. Obviously, with no way to contact the parents of the school, there is no way for our raffle to be successful. While we can mail to our PTA members, that is only 30 - 40% of the school, and now we have no way to reach the other 60% of the school.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Has this affected anyone else?
