Selling fundraisers just AREN'T working anymore!

We have been picking fundraisers that there is a tangible result directl to the family purchasing-- such as Entertainment books-- cookie dough, little ceasar pizza kits-- plus we have things that cost cost money-- box tops/campell's lables/tyson--- you are already buying these things for your family--- we host a restaurant night once a month-- we ask families to make that 1 night be their going out night and help the school in the process--- we look to raise around 30,000 each year to cover all that we do-- I just can't happen on 1 fundraiser- no matter how well you organize and runan event-- so you have to supplemnet with other items---

And not everything is made to be a fundraiser- such as a dance-- it's not run like a fundraiser- but it makes money--

I think you have to be more choosey about your fundraising efforts and do the ones that work for your area and your school.

I'm with some of the others, I don't see gift wrap being a profitable fundraiser. We recently did a candle fundraiser and will be soon doing a Food/Dip Mixes fundraiser.. with the company we are using we get about 50% of the profits from each.

With the selling fundraisers it's all about the product, candles usually do really well for us, the company we use has affordable candles that smell great and are good quality, plus free shipping. They also offer great prizes for the kids so they're excited and trying to sell more to get the prize(s) they want.

I'm happy to give you more info on the company we used.. she's in IL but can send fundraiser info to you at no cost and I believe she'll even work with you over the phone/internet for the fundraiser.

We are a school in Michigan and three years ago we stopped using these types of fundraisers and turn our attention on one primary selling fundraiser of selling gift cards through Great Lakes Scrip Center and then we host an annual Walk –A- Thon. But we had a lot of families that were very tired of selling form the catalogs and were just asking to make donations. The gift card program brings in about $8000. and the Walk-A-Thon brings in $20,000. But our families no longer need to go door to door. So we hear you and this was our solution.

Wrapping paper? You really want to sell wrapping paper?? Why not sell something that's about the same price point that can make you 5X's the money and it's far more rewarding for your supporters (pays them back all year long). ?? I don't get it ??

Hi Jes -

Could you pls private message me or email me at tsullivan(at)ptotoday.com? I'm interested in learning more/seeing your site. I've never heard of a group making anything close to $10,000 in one year off of an affiliate site.
