Fashion Show Event

I took part in a fashion show/tricky tray a few years back. A local salon did our hair and make-up. Dress Barn let us borrow outfits-3 each. We went in tried on different outfits and wore them at the event. It was a lot of fun. We only had maybe 10 moms who particpated. The event is a big one and requires a lot of work but it is an enjoyable one. Tickets went for $50 per person but you did get a nice meal at a catering hall/restaurant(where event was held).

You have some great ideas. I suggest you go to a Macy's in person if you have one nearby. They have been very generous in supporting our local Fashion Show.

LOVE the unwanted clothes idea! We do a "Clothes by the Pound" fundraiser a few times a year, where people bag up unwanted clothes, stuffed animals, tablelinens, blankets etc. We can coordinate another one of these with the night of the fashion event! See...sometimes something is right under your nose but you dont see it - thank you for that!

Im running into a problem getting any local store to loan us out clothes, but Im still looking. I think going in person is better than just cold calling asking store to lend out their clothes.

Keep the ideas coming!

Hi. I think that a fashion show would be so much fun for your school and am now thinking of how I could incorporate that idea in my school as well. I was thinking if you have any local boutiques you could ask for donations that the models could wear and then be given away at the end of the show, it would be advertisement for the stores and give you some things to raffle or giveaway. Also, maybe you could have a donation box for people to bring unwanted clothes to the event to then donate to shelters in the area. I hope these ideas help. Good luck! Good for you for thinking outside the box!

I am thinking about planning a Fashion Show Event as a Spring fundraiser for our elementary school. We would hold it in our all-purpose room and use students, teachers, parents and staff as models. We could incorporate some basket raffles and offer "cocktail hour type" refreshments and mocktails. What would a fair admission price be? I would like to offer a VIP ticket for a higher cost, allowing those people to sit in the front row.
We would have a program for local advertising and boosters so parents, grandparents and classmates could send well wishes to the models for $2-$5 dollars each.
I realize this isnt going to be a huge fundraiser, but something none of our schools in the area have done and also can be done with little out of pocket expense.
Once I get the ok from the princiapl I will look more into where to get the clothes from or have everyone wear something of thier own...along with the "Touring the Garden State" theme. Park casual wear, beach wear, and hit point of interest in NJ Cape May, Atlantic City, Rutgers, Princeton, museums etc.
Any input would be appreciated :)
