Spirit shirt sponsors

13 years 7 months ago #154982 by BelieveKids
The sponsor on the T-shirt thing seems to work best when there is a special event to promote. Those times where you want to celebrate a big game or a certain festival or something. If you are stocking a spirit store, it may be a better idea to avoid the advertising and concentrate on making some nice shirts so folks will want to buy them. I guess what I am saying is that I see a difference between cross promoted event shirts and nice spirit store school shirts. Well, hope my feedback helps.

Having never done anything of this nature I'm not sure how helpful this may be. Reading through the question though brought to mind a shirt my daughter (who's 8) had from some event she participated in last year. It had a full list of sponsors and logos on the back. Unfortunately I can't located it at the moment.

What I do remember is the more the company sponsored the larger their logo. The top sponsor had the primary large logo at the top center with nothing on either side. The second tier of sponsors were 2/3's the size and spread over the next 2 lines or so and the final tier of sponsors were basically one line listings with very little graphic work on the last several lines about 1/3 of the size of everything else. Basically... from a distance you could see the top sponsor but had no clue who the bottom ones were. Those could only be seen up closer.

As to how they got the sizes... I would suggest you take the smallest shirt you plan on ordering and figuring out how/where you want the logos placed. That should give you an estimate on the available space/size of the sponsors on the low end. Each corresponding size would of course have a large logo, etc.

That being said... who ever is printing the shirts for you should be able to answer the questions and provide the necessary direction.

We are planning on having the children submit artwork for a spirit shirt contest. The winner's artwork will be displayed on the front of the shirts. To defray the cost of the shirts, we would like to have shirt sponsors.

The plan is to get sponsors and display the business logo on the back of the shirt. This is where I am having difficulty.

How do I decide how large the ads will be? How much to charge? We discussed sponsor ranges from $100 - 500. My goal is to get at least 10 ads. I am also looking for a sponsorship form. I searched the file exchange, but didn't find one. Someone is interested in a $200 ad and wants to know the size. I have no clue.

We are an elementary school with pre-k 4 through 5th grade with 565 students.

I am new at this and am looking for any advice or help.

Thanks,
Michelle
