We held our 1st Father/Daughter dance last year near Valentine's Day. It was called a Sweetheart Dance and kept in mind that not all the girls have a dad, so the invitation stated to bring that special Father, Grandpa, Uncle. This was open to all 2nd & 3rd grade girls as we have a large school. The principal & asst. were the DJ's. We served punch, & sweet treats. The 2nd & 3rd grade teachers were the servers. We decorated with a balloon arch over the dance floor, white tablecovering(used round tables from teacher's lounge), and used the plastic tall wine glasses for centerpieces with roses made from hershey kisses. Each girl was able to take one home. We also took each couple's photo and delivered the following week. A mom even made inexpensive frames from paper to send home.

OUR SCHOOL HELD ITS FIRST SWEETHEART DANCE LAST SPRING. IT WAS FATHER/DAUGHTER AND MOTHER/SON. THE ART TEACHER MADE HEARTS AND TISSUE PAPER FLOWERS IN CLASS. WE SEND OUT INVITATIONS AND ASK PARENTS TO BAKE REFRESHMENTS. WE HIRED A DJ FOR A SMALL FEE.
WE ASK THE GUESTS TO DRESS UP!! SOME DADS EVEN WORE SUITS AND TIES. THE GIRLS HAD WRIST CORSAGES. IT WAS A FUN NIGHT.
