Our PTO is considering helping to organize Mad Science as an afterschool program. This would be an optional science event families could join if they were willing to pay the fee. It would be one hour per week for 8 weeks ($75 per child). It's a very popular program. (The PTO would have no part in the finances, would just help sorting out the details and spreading the word.)

We have have no programs right now, and my concern is daycare. In most of our families (or at least many) all parents work. If we setup an afterschool program (probably 3:15 -4:15) working parents would have a tough time participating and picking their children up on time.

Do your schools that have afterschool programs/clubs have any special provisions?
