I've not worked on a road race, but one that I participated in had a great midway inspiration that made everyone smile. The house closes to the halfway mark was set up with water, etc. But the great part was they had the "Rocky" movie theme song blaring. It really picked up our spirits.

My husband and I have just taken over our local 5k/5 mile road race. It has been slipping in sponsors and volunteers. It's in its 8th year and brings in substantial money for the PTO. Is anyone currently working on a road race committee and if so are there any must do's and don'ts to follow?
