I've got a questions about Fun Night. We're using Fun Services for the first time. How much does everyone sell tickets for? We're not doing this so much as a fundraiser but more of a way to welcome everyone back to school. Of course, we'd like to at least break even.

Thanks for your input.

Julie - we're using Fun Services for the first time in September for our Family Fun Night. I'm happy to hear that their a good company to work with. Now, if we can just get parents to help out everything would be great.

Have you ever tried using Fun Services for your spring carnival? They're wonderful! They have a whole slew of games, prizes (on consignment, which is always great! since I'm illiterate when it comes to that type of thing). We also got all of our food equipment from them - popcorn and cotton candy, etc. They made everythign so easy, took all of the guess work out of it. The kids had a great time!

I think their website is

It's worth a look/see

Is your fall festival a large event or just for the families. See, we have a fall festival just for the kids and families, much lower key. Then in the spring we have our Spring Fling which is city wide. Just curious which way you are looking for ideas for? I can help with ideas either way.

We've also used the Cake Walk as a booth. We have asked for donations of baked goods from all the families in the school and have a good turnout. There are squares with a number taped to the floor. For a ticket each person then walks clockwise around the circle until the music stops and quickly stands on the closest number. A number is then picked at random from a can and that number is the winner of that round, who then has their pick of the cakes. It is a favorite of our families. Cakes and brownies are homemade or storebought. Some families go all out with the decorating of the cakes and it is exciting to hope for those special cakes. It is a good money maker also. We have usually done it in the Spring for a carnival.

I have been to a school that had a cake walk and it was a lot of fun. You have a committee that makes the cakes. It's played like musical chairs. anyone participating buys a ticket. last one in, wins the cake of his choice. The kids had a lot of fun.
