Insufficient Funds

You're right, I didn't think of that. I'm just trying to play devil's advocate, I suppose. I sent the info to a few of our officers and they are afraid it sounds like a scam, even though I told them it came from PTO Today.

I'm not sure if we had to give them our bank account number; I seem to remember that they deposited the proceeds straight to our account, so we would have had to have done that.

But...you give out your bank account number to anyone that you write a check to; I guess I don't really understand the concern.

We have looked at the School Check Recovery website...it sounds too good to be true. Do you have to give them your bank account number? I'd feel uncomfortable doing that. But it would be so nice to let someone else go after those bad check writers...

We started using the service at www.schoolcheckrecovery.com/index.html
about a year or so ago, and were very happy with it. They were able to collect a number of really old bounced checks for us. Takes all the hassle out of us doing the collection, and no one has ever complained about them or the fees.

We send a letter that we got from this site in the bonus tools section. If we do not receive a response within 2 weeks (to allow for most pay periods), a second letter is sent the the words "SECOND NOTICE" in large bold letters across the top of the body of the letter. If we still get no response, then we turn it over to the prosecutor. We are not charged a fee for collections that a collections agency would charge.
