Paying for 100% membership?

Besides bragging rights and a certificate, I don't see a benefit. Weigh the $800 to state/national PTA against whatever else you would spend the money on at your school.

I've been involved in both PTO and PTA groups and do see the benefit in having a PTA unit because it really does come with a lot of benefits in terms of processes and training and support materials.

But I cannot envision paying for 100% memberships. It would be interesting to know what their justification is because I can't see it.

We are a PTA. In the last two years the board agreed to pay the difference in membership money received versus what would be owed to have 100% membership. What would be the benefit of this practice? As a new president, it does not seem like that is in the best interest of the PTA funds that were raised. For example, it would cost us over $800 this year to "buy" 100% membership (we currently have received funds for 60% membership). I don't want us to lose any benefits since we've been listed as 100% membership the last few years, but I also don't want to spend that money if it only equates to a certificate that reads "100% membership". Thoughts?
