We do one that gets sent home with the newsletter and in backpacks. It's on 8-1/2 x 11" paper, landscape, 2 sided.
Each teacher can include 5 or 6 short bulleted items. It's a chart that format-wise almost looks like a calendar.
Each row (about 2" inches tall) is a grade. We have 6 grades, so 3 on front, 3 on back. Each row is divided into 6 blocks or cells. We have the teachers name with about 6 bulleted items in each block. Most of our grades have 5 classes. A few have 6. So we use the "empty" spaces for gymn, library, art, music and shade them so they stand out.
We encourage everyone to look at the whole list, not just their child's class. Sometimes you may have something sitting unused that a classroom needs.
We have individul classes do the trees, and the apple baskets and such. But this makes a compact, one sheet list that's easy to send home.
In our school, a wishlist is something that the teachers themselves fill out. We have the teachers give us the list and then we see what we can afford, then the membership votes on it. (Such as computer software, microscopes, library books, gym equipment, etc.)
I am looking for new ideas for the teachers wish list to post outside of their door, does anybody have any, we have already had the apple tree, school house and indian head.
