Teacher/Staff Work Orders - For Volunteers!

11 years 2 months ago #162678 by Alicia
Thank you Rose!
What I am looking for is possibly a form you would have teachers fill out when they had work that would need to be done, a work order form I guess, the form would be given to parent volunteers. And then possibly a type of letter you may send to the teachers explaining the work order form and explaining the program. Our school is kinda moving away from our greeter desk and turning it into a staff support desk. I was just researching on ideas and how we may be able to implement this. I am having a difficult time finding any information. It would be teachers turning in projects that need stapeling, sorting, gluing, cutting, whatever they need. Not sure how to prevent over flow or I guess get teachers to utilize the services. Looking for any info !!

Thank You for any help.

Hi Alicia,
Can you provide a little more info. on what you are looking for? We have lots of docs, forms in our File Exchange, so we can probably help you find what you need.

Thanks!

We do the same thing in our Parent Room. I created a form for them to fill out, but would love to see the one you came up with. I had no problem doing the request sheet, it was the letter that went with it that I had a huge brain fart on. I sent one out today, but I wasn't happy with it. Thank you in advance.

I put a "task board" in the work room. Which also unfortunately serves as the teachers lounge. The teachers could write down their tasks for volunteers, a volunteer could sign their name. This way a teacher wouldn't have 4 or 5 volunteers bothering her. On the surveys and during the meetings they were all for this. But it was rarely used. So I did another short survey and ask if they would want me to fix a "task sheet" by their sign in sheet. The sheet would be labeled for M-F. They all told me not to mess with it. I had several volunteers to tell me they checked the task board as soon as they got there. I felt it was a worthy effort.

I was told that several years ago there was a basket in the work room that each teacher could use to keep things out for the volunteers. I don't know what happened with that, but it sounded good to me.

I realize we have a few teachers that do not want volunteers. I suggested this year they could have some kind of sign to place outside their door anytime they needed a volunteer.

Can you send me some information on that too and anything else you have for the volunteers.

Thanks
