My sister's school gave pocket calendars with the school's logo on the cover to it's volunteers.

You can buy brand new (with tags, AND tag protectors) Beanie Babies on eBay for about a $1 each (including shipping). They are really cute and people love them. you can match the animal to the volunteer with a little card that mentioning why their personality reminds you of this animal.. It can be really fun...

we did globes squeezie (stress ball things)through Oriental Trading. Then with the globe we put a tag saying we think the world of our volunteers.

Our volunteer appreciation luncheon is sponsored by the school. The principal pays for an entree, like big dishes of lasagne and the teachers bring salads, side dishes, etc.

One year they gave out mock checks that were so cute. It had some saying about volunteers and was a "check" for "one million thanks".

Everyone loved them.

Sorry--our budget is not spent on the volunteers. Those expenses come out of the pockets of the executive board members.
