The packs include a welcome letter, names and phones of the board, tips on becoming involved, the two hour pledge, and a smattering of other pertinant information such as PTo meeting dates, a new parent meeting and committees.

Do you send this info home again on the first day of school? I want to send a welcome packet home this year, something we've not done in the past. I hate to send the same info twice... Would it be better to have it at the Back to School night, and send a different assortment home on the first day of school? Or should I focus back to school night on something like the 2 Hour Pledge? and just have the other info handy if a parent asks or seems more interested than most?

Since we are focusing on "we're leaving our prints all over the place" I thought I'd run with this and have pawprint cookies, chalk paw prints on the side walk outside and maybe a few taped to the floor inside leading parents to our table, and a large poster board pawprints in different colors at each classroom for the students to sign. We can save these and use them on the PTO boad to show which class is leading in different events throughout the year, fundraising, book-it minutes, etc...

We also have a bell that the children of parents that join the PTO get to ring and all the current PTOers working are told to whoop and clap when they hear the bell. We also ensure that there is a wall behind us where the kids get to slap up a paw print (which lends itself to our "leaving prints theme).

We are doing balloons, but also giving away popcorn. We are hoping the smell will bring them to us!!

What do you all do to make your PTO table stand out? I was thinking balloons, but not much more comes to mind. Any help would be appreciated!

We put ours in folders and send them home on the 1st day of school. Too many papers not to put them in one. We also have a checklist attached to the outside so they can make sure they have everythign completed and money added and included. We include our welcome letter, membership form, ice cream social info w/ RSVP, directory form, event calendar, shirt order form and descriptions of all of our events for the year with a volunteer form attached.

We are going to pass out a packet also. Do you usually put your things in a folder? I would like for it to look nice. But, 600 folders? Errr...:o
