Our School does an annual Book o Ween. One of our teachers is the chair and that makes it real nice. It's a reading event with a Halloween theme.
For our night, teachers volunteer to read a short or excerpted story in their room dressed up for Halloween. Families/students are encouraged to dress up and travel from room to room to hear each story and are given a small carnival type toy/candy by the teacher at the end of the story. Some teachers get into it more than others by decorating and really dressing up but others are more relaxed and might have a pair of funny glasses/hair or in plain clothes. I have a couple smoke machines that we use every once in a while to make it foggy down the hallway. We provide a small snack like apple cider and donut holes/popcorn. Families are given a map when they come in letting them know where each station is in the building and are given the freedom to choose which station/teacher to attend. We try to keep the time to one hour but it runs a little longer. Teachers limit their story time to about 10 minute increments so the students can get in as many stories within the hour that they can. Our expenses run under $100 so we do this as a free event family fun night. We use left over carnival prizes to keep the expense down. I don't have a formal Book o ween flyer but I remember it to have basic information about the night.
