First meeting notice

1st meeting? We're having our 3rd next week! ;)

We usually put meetings on the school sign, on our website, send notes home, add reminders to school newsletters and put it on the announcements at school.

As far as teacher attendance...we give a prize each month to the teacher that has the most parents from their room sign in at the meeting. The prize is usually supplies for their room and any other goodies we can think of. (under $10-$15 or get it donated!)

I sent what I used for our first flyer. I made it as an Invitation to parents. I read on here that it was a good idea as some parents don't realize meetings are for everyone to attend

Good Luck,
Tammy

My school has a weekly newsletter from the principal with a 2 week calender on the back, and he always posts a headline notice the week of the meeting and then it is on the calander on the back. The PTO also has a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed and the meeting date is always on the front page. When I am able, I post a sign at the school saying "You are invited" with some details of the meeting (when, where and main agenda topic). Sometimes parents are not sure if they are invited to a meeting, so if you word it that way it takes away that concern.

Ironically, I think you will find post after post on this web site asking "how do we get teachers to come to meetings?" It is extremely hard for most of us to get teachers to attend, so thumbs up to your teachers!!!

I'm looking for help with our first meeting notice. I am not very creative and am new to the post as "president". We are also a fairly new parent-teacher organization. Right now our meetings consist mostly of teachers and we would like to give them a break and get more parents involved. Would anyone be willing to share their ideas or meeting flyers with me. PLEASE!!! You can send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Thanks!!!!!!
