carnival problems?

That is where the principal should step in and say if you cannot work it out yourselves, I'll pick a game for you.

that is ridulous that grown adults are going to argue over games. Why don't they rotate and work a different game every 30 minutes or hour?

Doing it for my one and only ~~ my son!

At our school we let the teachers tell us what they want to do. Run a game, paint faces, serve food, sell tickets, draw for door prizes, set up, clean up, count money, etc. We always have a few who don't do anything, but the ones who help always do it happily because they pick what they wanted.

I guess this year I would just tell to work it amongst themselves and let you know what games to set up where. Then next year I would put out a sign up sheet and let them sign up for the games they would like to operate.

Sasj, O please !!! A school carnival is not a flea market. It never cesses to amaze me how self centered people can be. I might would have asked them to just donate an item for the intended purpose of benefiting every child in the school instead of an individual and left it at that. Or maybe you could let one of these people coordinate a "craft" day. By the way, our district wouldn't allow these people to do this without school board approval anyway.

AArgh! doesn't it drive you nuts ?- people just don't see "the big picture" - we're trying to raise money for our school and our kids here, people - get over yourselves, suck it up and work together for goodness sake!!!
Sorry, I have no helpful advice to offer - just sympathy - and if I can just unload a rant on carnival problems- I have just had an infuriating conversation with a parent who wants to run a stall at our upcoming school fair, selling her own greeting cards and stuff - (i.e. she would take the profit - not the school)
We have had several such approaches from parents and also commercial sideshow operators wanting to set up at our fair and offering us 20 percent of their takings or whatever.
In the end we decided to set a flat $100 site hire fee for any "outside" group or individual wanting to run a stall or side show - I know it's a lot of money for parents who want to run their own little craft stall, but it's hard to set one rule for them and another for someone else - we also had community groups wanting to run stalls that would be in direct competition with stalls that classes were running - so they would be taking profit from the kids!!
It's a school fair for cripes' sake - for the SCHOOL - not for every man and his dog to make a few bucks! aaargh

Sorry to rant slightly off-topic, but PEOPLE!
you have my sympathies - good luck with getting those teachers onside!

This year our PTO decided to furnish all the games for the teachers, set up the games and also be in charge of cleanup all the teachers have to do is show up for 2 hours and work their games... We thought that would be alot easier for them. But we were soooo wrong.. They had to draw their game and that is the game they had to work or they could trade with someone, now everyone is upset, they don't want to work the games they have chosen gripe gripe gripe , makes me want to just not participate .
