Help With Document Theft

I agree to just "move on". I started from scratch on a Walk-A-Thon for our school this year, I found all my forms on-line, ideas on-line, etc. and we raised $14,000 on our 1st ever Walk-A-Thon. Very little of my time was spent securing rules, ideas, how to find volunteers etc. Sometimes it is harder to follow ideas from years past, this way you have a new perspective, and again, your new ideas may promote bigger monies for your school. Better to move on that stay stuck in the past...Good Luck to you and your school~

You might just need to start from scratch instead of spending your time trying to get the info from her. Not that you shouldn't continue to try, but most people have a limited amount of time and you have to decide how it can best be spent-beating your head against a rock that isn't responding or creating something new. It may not work out to be exactly the same event but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

When I took over our auction the only thing I had to go on was what I remembered from attending one and the limited amount of involvement I had been permitted to have with setting it up, (mostly grunt work), so I just made it up as I went along and it was the highest grossing one we'd ever had! You can do it!

Makes me wonder if she has something to hide. Other than that, guess she just likes to cause trouble...Either way...at least she isn't in charge this year.

I take it you can't get the info you need any other way (like contacting vendors or companies directly) and that having this info is really, really important. I also take it that various people have made various overtures to sooth her wounds (from being booted off the job). Despite the fact that her behavior led to the decision, it sounds as though she has one of those personalities that feels like she's the victim.

If so, and this may sound really wacky, but you could consider small claims court to force the return. It costs less than $100 to file. Once she receives the summons, she could turn very compliant very quickly. Of course, give her one more chance to pony up the paperwork by informing her that this is your next step.

Hello, I am hoping somebody out there has dealt with this situation before. We have a very successful annual auction. There has been somebody involved for the past 2 years that was difficult to work with. She was given a section of the auction to do and was left alone to do it. This year, she was supposed to be in charge of the auction. She has very good ideas but again, she is impossible to work with. (She doesn't like working with women.) Two new people (who are WONDERFUL) became new parents in the school. They wanted to help make the auction a success. Their ideas were great and this person shot down every idea that they had, acted like a child, such as name calling and lying. (You'd have to see it to believe it). Eventually she stepped down and the two new people are running the auction. They are SO VERY ORGANIZED and great. We are very lucky to have them. The problem is the person who stepped down refuses to hand over information that she has regarding the auction. She has given us some of the material she has but we know there are some documents missing. We know that she has registration information that she is not handing over. I have asked her for it repeatedly (I am the president) and when that didn't work, we had the principal ask for it and she still hasn't handed it all over. How do we get it back? I'd appreciate any help. The school has been doing this for over 10 years and this has never happened. Any ideas?? Thanks for reading this long message and for giving any help or advice you may have!
