Open Houses & Round-ups - Do They Work For You?

Try getting a booth at a local street fair or festival. maybe sell some bake goods to draw them in and have flyers to hand out and make sure you get their email or phone # as a follow up. Have some students in the booth so they give testimonials and make an impression.

The majority of members here are from public schools so growing enrollment isn't particularly an issue. But we do have some members from private, charter, and pre-schools. They may have something to add. I only mention it because it means a smaller pool of potential people to share information.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it brought in more students to your school? We're having great luck getting the parents to volunteer now. But we need to grow our enrollment. So I wondered what you do to attract new families INTO your school?

Luck in what way Ellen--to garner volunteers or as a social get together. Our school does an open house in August and that is where we reach our initial membership. We usually pick up the biggest share of our folks there and then do a membership drive through the first month of school....We also do volunteer sign ups there and do very well.

Is that what you're thinking?

We've had two open houses for our school this year; a preschool/K. roundup and then an all school open house. We had three families each time.

Do you have much luck with open houses/round-ups? What other suggestions do you have that may replace these?

Thanks in advance!
