We are planning to hold "Pioneer Days" in a few months. We will have a horse drawn wagon that gives the kids rides, the kids will make butter & ice cream. We are hoping to find an old washtub so they can "wash laundry." We'll probably have a "kitchen area" where they can roll out dough, sift flour and shuck corn. We are *hoping* to find someone who can demonstrate how to make soap and candles. We will also have aprons, bonnets and straw hats and vests for them to dress up in.
Has anyone done this before? Is it more work than it's worth? Do you have any other activities for the kids to enjoy?
