How much is enough?

I'm hoping to change that this year. I'm just trying to get a feel for what other groups are doing. 1 every other month, 1 a month, more? I was sort of thinking 1 a month would be good, but am not sure if I need to ease into this a little more, as it will be new for our school & we are a little short on help.
Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

We start with a large fall fund raiser. Have a toy drive at Christmas. A silent auction at our Sock Hop in January. A Family Fun Night in March. If you have to many you will burn yourself out. My first year as Pres I did that, I felt it year end but LOVED every minute of it. Good Luck!

Thanks GAmom - I really like the ideas and plan on trying them out with our school. We do a Dominos night (we get a portion of each delivery that they make with our schools flyer) and ended up with about $300! My kids love Cicis and would really enjoy that one.

be happy to!

Wehave done cfa for about 3 years now. We call in an order on Tuesday and they deliver them to use Friday morning at 7:00. our first one we ordered 125 chicken biscuits and sold out in 15 minutes!!! We ordered 175 this past friday and sold out. They give us a discounted amt ont he biscuits, not much but a little something. We sell the biscuits for 2.00 each and also offer juice boxes for 50 cent and bottled water for 1.00. We preordered the teachers this time and it was much smoother, not having teachers think they could skin line. We set theirs up in the lounge. Anyway, chick fil a purchased signs that say say, chick fil a this friday and then one that says cfa today. We put a note in our weekly letter sent home. Our classes start at 7:55, so by 8 we are usually cleaned up and counting money. They bring the biscuits in two large coolers with heating pads in the bottom to keep them warm. it is more of a community builder than fund raiser, but like I said 150 in an hour, is easy money.
Once a month the school does chick fil a night and we get a portionof the proceeds. Every student gets a slip they take with them and cfa writes the amt on it and keeps it and totals up at the end. Not a biggie either, but it adds up.

Cici's is totally rocking this year. We have spirit night with them and they offer a discount to our students. they provided signs also. They will give us 2 xl pizza's 2x a month for us to disperse as we please. We choose to do class contests. They also will give us 5 xl pizza's on PTO meeting nights. Once a month they will provide pizza for the teachers at lunch. they give us a discounted price if we order pizza and say we are from xxxx school. He says his goal is to let people know they are extremely connected with the schools. I don't know if this is a corporate thing or just him. we have little ceasars that is near, and pizza hut, and papa john's so he may just be after business, but he will get ours in a heartbeat with all this free stuff. We really push cici's night for him and make sure that we remind the teachers of all they are doing also!

Good luck! We don't get a lot of money form these but it isn't always about money. these are good socializing things and i have racked up some volunteers this way!!

Our school does a monthly movie night and they have a chick fil a night also. the people at chick fil a all bought a t shirt from us for the night.

we don't make a ton of money off chick fil a breakfast--usually about 150.00 but they are delivered to us, and we get there at 7 and are done by 8 so, for an hour's worth of work, you can't beat that!

Cici's does a ton of stuff for us--they donate pizza 2x a month (2 xl) and we donate them to the class with the most AR points or highest attendance, etc. Different goal every month. We push our room parents to do pizza parties from cici's for the classes at christmas and end of the year so they benefit from this.
