Donuts with Dad...first try 300 attend

16 years 10 months ago #133928 by pals
Probably the main thing we learned is that we should put the coffee on tables seperate from the donuts, we were tied up a little at times because of the coffee pots. We had put the juice and milk on a different table but not the coffee.

Order at least three dozen more donuts than you think, shop around as most stores were willing to give us some kind of break on the donuts, which was great. The total thing cost 176.00 which was well worth it! Lots of napkins and alot of jelly donuts were left over..ha ha ha.

We did a rsvp slip since we had not done it before, just to get some count. We ran it from 7:30-8:30 which seem to work well, and we had our vp(male) talk about dads helping at school. We received alot of feed back and questions on how they could help, so next year I think we will see an increase of dads in the school.

Fabulous turnout pals! You and your group must be thrilled. Just goes to show how many great ideas there are on this forum, and all the tips we can get for running the events makes it so much easier.

Just wanted to say Thanks to everyone who has talked about Donuts with Dad on this forum. After reading so much about it I took the idea to our principal and with our new male vice principal chairing the event we ran with it!

We had it this morning and had almost 300 people attend, not bad for a first try! Learned a few things but over all a great success. Thanks for sharing!
