It is just a wonderful collection and we are going to watch these movies very soon. I am also waiting for Harry Potter to be released.

Our Principal has given us the option as PTA to have PG instead of only G rated movies. This is only because in order of a student to come to movie night they have to have a parent. The parent has the option to pull out of stay. We have been doing this for four years now and no one has ever left. I even do the classic movie Shirley Temple, Son of Flubbler. The is alot out there that these kids have not seen.

I had the same issue with MPLC: it seems to say it can do licenses, but the web site doesn't have details. I filled in the contact form and got a response a day or two later same as you did: they're not the right company for what we need.

Thanks for the sample $ figures.

Do you do single-movie licenses or annual? How much does your annual permit cost? (The web site says it depends on the number of students; it would be nice if they said, eg 250-499 is $x, 500-1000 is $y.)

We've always gone with movielic.com For our school size, 350-400 students, the one-time license is $75. The annual was $350 BUT.....
I just found out this year that our school district can purchase this cheaper. Our district belongs to an "intermediate school district", basically meaning that 5 counties pool their resources for more buying power and services. This license that would cost our parent group $350 can be purchased through our district for a bot over $200.
School districts should have this anyhow unless they do not allow teachers to show movies for indoor recess and ban any afterschool programs from showing movies also. This way, anyone using any buildings in the school district are covered by the district's license.

ETA:
So, I got to wondering about this Motion Picture Licensing Company since I have only ever heard of Movie Licensing USA. Went to their site, not alot of info but I found a toll free number so I called. Turns out that they do not deal with schools. They DO have a contract with Fox studios (20th Century Fox, Fox 2000 Pictures) to license their productions for the use of PTOs/PTAs. The fee was $80 one time or $105 annual. This only covers movies from Fox Studios.
