Doris,

That does sound fun...I don't know about it either...but I am hosting an online gameshow for parents and kids on Dec 6th at 5pm eastern...it will be a fun trivia game and at the end I teach the kids how to save a million dollars in retirement...

We haven't done Family Feud although I can see where that could be a riot.
Last fall, we did a Deal or No Deal Night and it was HUGE! We served pizza and to help recoup the cost of that, we asked for a $5 donation per family. We had 60 families come, somewhere around 175 people total.
We used file folders for our briefcases (using a printed picture of a briefcase on the front). As people came in, they were given a numbered ticket, students and parents. We used those tickets to draw for contestants. Once the contestant was chosen, we asked for volunteers to hold the briefcases. I think the money amounts ranged from a dime to $10.
From there, we played the game as usual, including having a banker. We held this in the cafeteria and the banker was in silhouette behind the door that leads into the kitchen. She would call our emcee on his cellphone with offers. The audience got really involved with helping the contestant decide to take the deal. At the end of each game, the contestant got to keep the money they won. I think we played ten games in all, it was fairly fast paced. We gave away two $10 prizes and the total was about $50.
We got excellent feedback on this one!

I've seen a few mentions of groups doing a version of Family Feud for a game show night. Has anyone found/used a power point program for that? We are having a Game Show night in a few weeks. I thought I had a program that would let me plug in our own answers (we surveyed the students and have their top answers to the questions we want to use). But it turns out it doesn't work as a "real-time" game - it's more for a scripted "show" (the order of the answers and the "strikes" is predetermined, although you can change the answers to suit your own group). Anyway - I found a template for the "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" game here on the file exchange that is perfect. I wish I had something similar for Family Feud. Wondered if anyone has done it before and what they used.
