Sounds like a great idea to have your PTO visible at this event!
What is currently on the agenda for the dedication ceremony? Are you doing a ribbon cutting? Does your group want to sponsor a ice social as part of the event? Perhaps the PTO wants to sponsor a garden at the new school.
Here is an idea a community member had for an school anniversary that I thought was kind of cool?
Our school celebrated our anniversary by having all the kids do an art project to commemorate the anniversary - then we had a family night that was like an art show to celebrate. It was a potluck event. Ahead of time we sent out an email and said if you didn't want to contribute food you could donate a few bucks towards supplies : napkins, plates, drinks etc. It was a dress up affair since it was like a gallery opening. The kids got a kick out of showing off their projects and getting dressed up. Families had a lot of fun!
Hello everyone! I was hoping for some ideas for our PTO group to do at a school dedication. We are currently in the process of building a new school and will be in it for the 2010-2011 school year. There is going to be a dedication ceremony scheduled and we are trying to think of something for our group to do at the dedication. Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks so much for your help!
