Been searching the forums and saw a few that posted briefly of their multi-cultural events. We are looking into possibly holding a Multi-Cultural Family Night at our preschool (we have approx 140 students). We held a Family Reading Night last year and it was highly successful.
Thoughts we've had so far for the event:
This is a free event for families to attend and have an outing with each other.
Costs should be fairly nominal as we will ask teachers and parents to host tables to introduce their culture/background.
hosts will provide a food item or two, as well as decorate their table accordingly;
we will compile music from parents/teachers and play throughout the night
we might have children learn a dance and demonstrate during the evening
I appreciate any further thoughts and suggestions to make this a success.
My goal is to bring families together more often, outside of school hours, while still promoting the school's vision of providing an enriching experience.
