Honoring a teacher's memory

Hi Kelly,
We are so sorry for your community. I'm sure community members will weigh in on this thread with ideas. Your candlelight vigil sounds like a very nice idea.

Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately today is a sad day for our PTO. We learned that one of our 5th Grade teachers lost her battle with Cancer last night. The school brought in counselors to tell the students and each parent of a 5th student was contacted personally today.

As a PTO we would like to honor her memory in a way that goes beyond simply making a donation to a charity or a scholarship (which we plan on doing). We want to invole the students, past students and town as a whole as she grew up here as well.

Has anyone had experience with this? I was thinking maybe a candlelight memorial where we sell those LED candles and donate the money. Any other ideas would be very appreciated.

Thank You!
Kelly
