Joy, my 10 year old requested books this year. I watched the weather and H--- did not freeze over!
He wants the Lemony Snickets (??) books. He just read another book called "Hoot" and just loved it. I caught him in bed with a flashlight. I think aliens have captured my son and replaced him with a clone who now likes to read.
Of course he is still foaming at the mouth for Madden 2005.
Walmart also has this cool hoverdisk hockey puck. I know that it is sports, but a little different.
ScottMom#1 - I think we're finished with Yugio cards (thank goodness). We've bought HUNDREDS over the last couple years. (Of course - I tormented him and would usually only agree to the purchase of a new pack if we called them "Ugly-o" cards.)
We did a major top-to-bottom cleaning of his room last weekend, and I think the cards finally hit the Goodwill pile.
Hey Joy, do you have a skate park close by that you could get him a gift certificate too? Movie passes for him and three other buddies? My daughter (13) mentioned a finger bike or finger board, they come with parts and have additional ones to add on etc. Big seller at the sporting goods place my husband works at.
OOO what about tickets to a college sport event...usually can get in much cheaper than pro games.
My 9 year old likes Yugioh cards. He has also been asking for a cheap drumset or some other cheap instrument like a recorder-he likes to make noise.

Anyone have any good Christmas gift ideas for 10 year old boys? (Ideas that do not include video or computer games.)
The marshmallow blow guns are very popular here - sold at craft fairs. I gather they are made of PVC pipe and use mini marshmallows as ammo. I've ordered a few of those ($5 each) so he and his friends can run around and play outside.
He already has every type of sports equipment imaginable. He hates clothes (as gifts) - except for the cutesy T-shirts that say stuff like "My dog ate my homework", or "I'm dressed and out of bed. What more do you want?"
