We booked our location in October for our March auction. They decided to do a major renovation and called me a week ago to tell me that they wouldnt be able to host our event. We are 44 days from auction and have no location. I have called most other places around an no one can host our party due to previous booking. We have a small restaurant on hold for us but it is less than ideal.
The Club offered to move our party by one month to April in the brand new facility. I am afraid if we change the date, we may get a low turn out since we have sent out materailswith the March date. We are still calling other locations to try and find a location for our original date but will have to go up in price.

have any of you ever had things so well planned and then watch them fall apart?
how would you approach parents about the date change?
