Question: Role of principal in pto

Can a principal veto a vote to earmark funds to put the monies where he'd like it to go? For example, we'd like to do a small fundraiser for the art dept, but he wants the monies to go to technologies.

NO! Principals do not have control over the PTO! They serve as ex-efficio officers, and can only vote the same as all other members. You should check with your school district about the district policies, and, perhaps, share them with your principal.
