Question: switching from parent only club to PTO?

We are a parent only club right now at our school and we want to switch over to a PTO to include our teachers. What do we need to do to make it happen? We have a 501c3 and all that I am just wondering if it is as simple as renaming our club? Any help is awesome thanks!

If you want to change the name, you need to indicate the new name when you file your annual Form 990, and notify the state corporations office if your group is incorporated.
