Question: Dissolving PTO
We have decided to dissolve our PTO group due to no volunteers from parents or teachers and no one wanting to step into our shoes to take over leadership. We are tax exempt. 1. Do we have to give remaining funds to the school or can we pick another non-profit or possibly divide it up to more than one? 2. Do we need to contact the IRS or any other entity? 3. Do we need to file our tax return for 2016?
