Question: Chrome Books

Our school is looking at giving Chrome Books to students. It may not be all, but ones who are interested. They would purchase them for $189 and cover $100 of each for any family that wishes to purchase one. Here is our issue: the company needs and EIN to make an account for the purchase. Our school cannot use the district EIN, so wanted to use the PTC's and then pay the company with a school check. Is that legal? It seemed not. The PTC did donate $7000 to the school for technology. If we can't do this with our EIN, can the PTC purchase them for the families that want them? Or is this not considered a benefit for each student? We are trying to come up with a way to do this for our school. Thank you for your help!
