Looking at our school district calendar, National Educational Bosses' Week is May 19th. Personally I think a gift certificate for a perfessional massage would be great. I don't know how principal's do it. They have alot on their plate.

Thanks for the input! We are going with a restaurant gift certificate and card. Our school is a Catholic Elementary and the National Catholic Educational Assn. declares this day, maybe public schools do not have this. We also requested the families write a nice note.

Our PTO board decided to give $25 to the secretary for secretary's day, to the Librarian for Librarian's day and to the school nurse for nurses day. Last year the Librarian picked a book from the book fair that happened to be going on at the same time. This book was then donated to the school library in her name. We would like to add the principal to this list but when is principal appreciation day? If you really wanted to include the parents in this you could write something up in your monthly PTO newsletter asking for small donations.

I do not know when Principals Day is but, the month before Teacher Appreciation Week we remind parents about it in the newsletter and mention that this would be a good time to write that note of appreciation they have been putting off. It usually does the trick.

We do not advocate gifts as it is against our school districts policy. (Besides they always get a ton of stuff they do not need)

In May during our installation of new officers we give our Principal and Assistant Principal a gift certificate to their favorite restauraunt, as a thank you and parting gift from our PTA.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get parents to write a letter or give small gift for Principal Appreciation Day? Would it seem belittling for the PTO president to send a letter to all families asking them to do this? Can anyone offer a nice gift idea for under $50? Thanks!!
