Using Classrooms

Are you not allowed to use the gym or cafeteria? We decided to have our first ever Halloween party for the kids this year. We had games in the gym, and food and crafts to do in the cafeteria. One game that was fun was halloween twister. I got a piece of linoleum at a good price and I painted on the wrong side. We had a row of bats, pumpkins, witches, cats, and ghosts. I just used regular paints I had left from other projects and wall paints. Be sure to seal when finished with a few coats of polyurethene. The water base works fine. Maybe you can use snowflakes, ice-skates, a sled, skis, snowshoes or snowboard etc.
How about snow ball bowling. Get a cheap toy set of bowling and use white socks rolled into balls for the balls. We are doing an outdoor Snowfest for the kids on Fri. they have Feb. break the next week. We do fun outdoor activities with the kids. One of the male teachers mans the tug of war contest every year. We make snow angels for the birds. After the children are done making their angels an adult helps them up and they get to sprinkle different types of birdseed on the angels. We then get to watch lots of birds visit our school. We have 6 activites in all and the classes are scheduled to stop at different stations at a certain time. Everyone gets a chance to come in and warm up and have a snack and hot cocoa. It's lots of fun. Good luck with the carnival hope this helps some.

Our parent group has a winter carnival for the kids. We are not allowed to use the classrooms and are only allowed in the hallways. We have very crowded hallways. Does anyone have ideas for games or ideas to help us? It is non-negotiable (even though all the funds will go to playground improvements) because a member of the parent group told all the teachers the rooms would not be used. We do not have much time. Please help!
