Question...

This brings up an idea! I read somewhere once about how some women in a neighborhood set aside one night or afternoon to do a party that consisted of refreshments and clothes they no longer wanted or could wear. During this party they sorted through the clothing and swapped out. The left overs were either taken home or donated to a local shelter or like a consignment shop we have here in town. It takes donated items and sales them cheap taking that money and giving it to people in need. If anyone thinks this might actually help the teachers and possibly the parents then this might be a great opportunity for the PTO's to get a little more personally involved and maybe even open some doors for communication and form a better relationship with the teachers and parents. I think I will bring this idea up at our Oct. meeting. I would like your opinions.

Most of ours can only afford jeans and not the $85.00 pair- Dress pants can cost way more.

As long as they're not wearing speedo and halter tops- and they look nice (not necc dressed up) they're okay in my book.

Jean and a concert Tshirt (mostly nice dress shirts or Polo's) with a pair of chuck taylors was what a lot of my teahcers wore

volmom, i wonder how much 'respect for authority figures' those 'jeans are the problem behind no respect' parents, have instilled in thier kids.

teachers only do one part of child education. i wish more parents would do their fare share.

AND, i might add that our kids are allowed to 'dress down' every day of the week. whats good for the goose, should be good for the gander.

Our Florida school also has casual Fridays. Why is this person so obsessed w/ this issue. The main concern should be the quality of education and the level of supervision on the field trips. Also, many companies have casual days one day of the week. Just ask Bill Gates!
