we do zero fundraisers. all money (500kid school) 20-30k comes from the grocery store and retail store cash back reward program (we include families and freinds, not just parents). the rest comes from family and corporate matching donations (40k). we got rid of all fundraisers since these systems work for us. but to get people to want to (not have to) donate (we are non profit so all money is fully tax deductible) you have to have good PR and coommunity spirit within the school and certain demographics obviously helps a lot too, so it doenst work everywhere, the donation end of things. but corporate $$ is always there for the asking, and the store cards, well everyone buys groceries so that too is an easy money maker.

Hi!

We do two major fundraisers now. A Walk-a-thon in the Fall and an Auction in the Spring.

Both need a boost(need input-anyone?) though for our small size (93 families) we do a really good job. Thanks to our previous PTO officers. I tell you you PTO gals are such a blessing to schools. Never knew HOW much work all of you did!

I don't want to sound like an AD, but I do have an idea that has been used in my area. I am not a "spammer", I am a mom, teaher, and an Independent Consultant for an At-Home Business. I have been offering fundraisers to a few schools in my area. The profit of each product sold is $10. Many have said that this is a good profit when comparing it to other fundraiser profits. In our area, people were so sick of cookie dough that didn't bake good, magazine subscriptions that no one wanted, and to be honest, cheap merchandise. People in my area were at the point that they would rather just donate to the PTO and or the school then to buy the "junk". The feeling of my fundraiser was in a thankful tone. The product was something that was top quality, something that they could use, and something they were happy to get. Again, I don't want to sound like an AD, so I won't say anymore, but if you are interested please email and I will fill you in. Thanks for your time!

We also do a cookie dough, pizza fundraiser and it has been very sucessful the past 3 years--we peofit about $10,00 each year from this sale.
One fundraiser I like is the value cards--our 8th grade spring trip students sale them to help pay for the trip--they sale them for $10.00 and the students gets $6 for each card sold. And I love the card I use it all the time and it is well worth the $10 I spend on it. I don't know alot about the selling side of it since its not a PTO fundraiser but I am sure someone on here can help.
