Families winning more than one Basket

The only way to avoid this is to purchase tickets for each basket you want to win. Have a different drawing for individual baskets. That way if you have ten baskets and purchase ten tickets you can place one ticket for each basket or all in the one you want to win.

We had the same complaints last year at our basket raffle. 3 very involved PTA mom's walked away with 2 and 3 baskets a piece. Some mommies have approached me about limiting the number of baskets that people win. I will not, period. The idea of a raffle is, the more you buy, the better chances you have of winning! I give the analogy that the person sitting next to me in the bingo parlor that buys 4 tickets to my one ticket, may win more than I do. THAT IS WHY IT IS CALLED GAMBLING!! At least I don't have to worry about this fight until after the first of the year!!

I think that legally if they PURCHASE tickets they can win as many times as they are drawn. It was a purchase necessary type raffle. The only way you could avoid that is allow one purchased ticket person/family.

Update: We had our raffle last Friday. It went great. 17 different families walked away with baskets and I heard no complaints - nothing but compliments on what fun the Bingo was and just having an inexpensive family evening out with friends. I guess we often worry for no reason.

I agree-- we had 1 family win 3 of our raffles items on a raffle of 16-- they happen to win all 3 of our panera certificates.... we just laughed and went on--
I put tickets in and won nothing--- it a chance, not a guarantee!!
It would have been nice if more individuals won-- but it's the luck of the draw.
