I can't figure out how to phrase it at the moment (sorry HUGE headache working here!)

But I would certainly use one of two train of thoughts...

1) If your school recycles, etc. that is how you do it and the funds could go towards special bins, etc.

2) The education of the children including environmental education about habitats, etc.

Between the heading and the question I am confused. If you are trying to write a grant or something perhaps a bit more information could help provide some additional useful comments.

How does the parent teacher organization benefit the conservation of species, habitat and/or humanity?
