Our K-5 school has a movie afternoon at a local movie theatre (PG film) on a day that we have an early dismissal like conference day. For a small fee children receive a drink and popcorn and the ticket.
We have a Valentines Dance that the 5th grade puts on to make money for their end of the year celebrations, plus, we do rollerskating about 3 times a year. I'll get the permission slips that we use and send them to you.
For the rollerskating we use a company and they come to our school and take care of everything.
I'll try to get everything together either tonight or tomorrow and send them.
We have had a dance / family fun night for the past few years. We budget money each year to pay for the DJ, snacks and door prizes. We invite all the students and their families at no cost. Just one of the things we do to give back for doing the fund raising.
I'll work on pulling out some samples of our requests and letters we use for such. As for the skating, we have a local rink that let's us have as many family skate nights we want each school year. We set the price of admission, [$2 pp] and for the first 3 we do each year, all the admission payments are donated back yo our P.T.O..
