Hi f99mana,

We'd caution you to do these kinds of gifts as a group. Some parents may feel this departs from the group's mission and you don't want to get a controversy going over giving a baby gift to a teacher. So, best to not do it from your group. But, that's not to prevent a few parents getting together and sending a gift or condolences.

What is everyone's thought on a PTO giving a gift to staff and teachers for life events such as having a baby, getting married, or a family member passing away? I'm torn as if we should be giving gifts like that at all. I would love to just wondering if it would look better if we took up a donation at a meeting for such things rather than using PTO funds.
