Our school has done this for a few years now. The kids get a small reward each week when they turn in their reading logs. Since the PTO is sponsoring a family reading program this school year, maybe I'll suggest that we offer some bigger prizes too.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We are also participating in the Million Minute Challenge....it is the theme to this year's Books and Beyond, an extra curricular reading activity that our PTO funds for our students. We are all excited about this challenge!

We were so inspired from the article about Birch Elementary in North Olmstead, Ohion and their Million Minute Reading Challenge we decided to give it a try. Any one else taking on this challenge? Our pep rally went really, really, really well. We're developing events as we go.

Thanks Birch Elementary and PTO Today for the great idea. Wendy.
