Assuming you aren't charging admission, right? I always thought donuts w/dad was a service until we moved to the new place where I learned that they charge $1.00 per dad and $.50 per child - though I know for a fact they don't turn anyone away if they don't have money.

Anyway - don't think this is gross, o.k.! Promise?????? Is there a bakery or grocery store with an in-house bakery that will sell you yesterday's donuts/bagels for like really cheap or even give them to you?

As for the huge turnout - congrats - why not put a donation jar at the door and see if anyone drops in a buck or two to help with the next one?

Could you go outside of town for donations? When collecting donations remind the store managers that having their product will help get their name out and it is also tax deductible. Also you could ask for monetary donations from politicans, banks, insurance co., and other profitable organizations. I learned to beg very quick in this business.

We are hosting our first Donuts w/ Dad's and didn't have any idea what to expect but it is very popular! so far we will be serving 275 dad's and kids on only $50.00 and we have no extra funds to increase this as the year is just starting and the Date for the event is set for Sept. 30!! We have thought about collecting local donations but most small town stores can't give much. Help Please
