Holiday Parade - new ideas?

We did one for our Christmas parade called "an old time Christmas". We put a head board at the cab of the truck, put bales of hay as the "bed" and put all the kids (I mean ALL the kids) in the bed dressed in pajamas and covered in a huge quilt. At the foot of the bed we had grandma in a rocking chair dressed in her robe and reading a large, mocked up book (the night before Chrismtas) to the kids near a Christmas tree packed with Christmas presents. We blared the song "Grandma's Feather Bed". Everyone stayed warm and waved and had a blast.

After 10 years of participating in the town Santa Parade, I am afraid we have run dry of new ideas for our float. We usually get a flatbed truck about 18 feet long and 8 feet wide. The kids help create the decorations and the morning of the parade the adults get together and put the float together. We have children both on the float and walking. No Santas on the float as he arrives via fire truck at the end of the parade and after all you can only have one Santa :) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.....
