Okay, here's a good one:

I'm folding laundry yesterday afternoon and my daughter is telling my son about the "true love" survey that they did in English. She said the teacher had to omit 2 questions because they related to sex. My son casually walks over to throw something in the trash as he tells his sister "Mrs. Soandso(his life skills teacher) says that sex is an important part of a healthy relationship between married people." I almost dropped my laundry and my jaw!! I pointed out that the teacher had emphasized the marriage part. This then led the two of them into a discussion of morals and the bible's view on sex without marriage. I thought maybe I was in some type of weird timewarp or something. I just kept folding my laundry...

Oh, LUV. I'm sorry about your Mall Moment. I, too, miss the days of class parties with valentine's, cupcakes and punch. Shorty reminds me every day why there isn't enough money in the world to entice me into doing high school over again!

I miss all those little kid things like Valentine cards and class parties-I loved to make cookies and help with the parties. Aaah, the good old days! Instead I have mouthy teenagers! Actually, they are really good kids, they just have their "moments".

My son asked me the other day how much I was going to spend on Valentine stuff for him, and then wanted to know if he could just have the cash to put toward a new baseball bat! Then there was my daughter who did one of her Jekyl and Hyde routines in the mall: We're pleasantly shopping along and I show her some liquid silver leggings that were on a rack, she goes ballistic and tells me I'm not funny and that she can't stand me. I must admit I was fighting back tears, but calmly told her she might want to remember that the person she was currently treating so cruelly, was the same person who was willing to take her shopping and buy her new jeans. The next thing I know the jeans are back on the shelf and she is headed off across the store to find her dad. I took my time catching up and found out later that she had told my husband and son that I had "knocked things off a rack and thought it was funny", so she had left me. My son told me he hadn't believed her for a minute. Gotta love that boy!

I think I'm going to apologize to my mom when I see her this weekend. I'm sure I probably had my moments when I was a teenager.

You rock, d! congrats on finishing the course. "And now, let the wild rumpus start!" ~Max, the King of All Wild Things

Glad to hear you're getting settled in LUV. Funny you should mention Cougars because our school is "The Cougars". Hmmmm I agree, it's creepy either way.

I'm having a blast in 1st Grade. I get to take valentine cards in. I won't be there for the party on Friday but I'll put cards in their envelopes. What's the cool "kid" valentine theme this year?
