Nachos?!?!?! Count me in. That'll go great with the beer. Then we can top it all off with Crazy's cookies.

Silver, boy do I know how a day can just pile stuff on you. Hang in there.

I'll take one of those ... welll okay more than one ... of those cold beers. Typically not one for beer but today has just been one of those days. You are happy as can be when you wake up, weather some issues throughout and by dinner you are reflecting on the amount of BS placed in your lap. okay enough venting ... whos up for some fully loaded nachos?!

Ahh CC - I know how great that feeling of going back to school is (I also remember how terrified I was the first day!), I still get all giddy and excited when it's time to go back. I got to go and buy my books today and some art supplies for classes - fun.
I'm just going to echo the "woohoo, school starts in a week" sentiment. We've had a sucky summer due to illness in one form or another. I've spent the majority of the summer laid up with a massive sinus infection (took 3! antibiotics to get rid of it, and the last one was a sulfied - so no sun/pool/outside anything!) So all of us are ready to be busy and out of the house.

Ok - I've got to pass on the most incredibly delish cookies I've made in a LONG time. I was cleaning out the pantry (dangerous move) and pulled out a box of duncan hines cake mix. On the side was a receipe for a chocolate chunk pecan cookie you make with the cake mix. OMG - words cannot even do them justice. I made them big (instead of getting 2 doz, I only got 15 out of it), and OMG! Diet? What diet?:D

Oh, I know how stinky 11 year old boys can be. They're still kinda stinky at 13/14 and, well even at 43....

My friend had a stray cat deliver 4 kittens in her backyard last month. She knew I was coming for a visit so she laid down the law. She said, "Listen, they're cute, I know they're cute, but I already have two dogs. So, don't touch them, don't look at them, don't feed them, don't even think about them." What?!?! Bring home three strays and suddenly you have a reputation......

It's hot, hot, hot again. Coldbeer all around!

Oh, I know Silver. I hate sending them to the shelter, but I figure it's a better chance for them than the coyotes that run the field behind the house or starving to death. If I wouldn't have discovered the kitten last night, he would have died from heat today down in that window well, because he was never going to be able to get out on his own. I'm hoping that my letter to the editor will tug at the heartstrings of someone who is looking for a pet and they will run to the shelter and adopt them. The kitten we took in last week got a home right away and the shelter staff said they are adopting out 30-40 cats a month. They do great public relations and promotion, so I think they are the first place people around here go to adopt a cat. If my son and I didn't have severe cat allergies they would have become our kitties, and the neighbors loved them, but already have pets. With the first kitten they asked around the neighborhood, but found no one, so that wasn't an option this time. I do admire the girls for trying to insure the cats would have a home, but they just should have told us their idea outright and we would have supported them. Both girls have really been pushing the limits lately and my son has been just as bad. Been out in the sun too long-going from good eggs to bad, stinky eggs!

Speaking of stinky eggs: my son and his friend walked in the house yesterday afternoon after being outside for several hours and the smell about knocked me out! Who knew 11 year old boys could smell that bad?! I think they need to rub the antiperspirant over their entire bodies. I love them, but WOW!!!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
