Our upcoming literacy event is a Family Soup and Poetry night. Purchasing the soup through the school cafeteria so it is extremely cost effective. Goes well with our winter months. You can also do chili or something like that. We're staring in the cafeteria and then moving on to different stations. We also have a nutritional committee that helps with dinner and food items. Working closely with the cafeteria is great beacause they are able to buy some items back if we over purchase. We have also done a bake sale during our family events. Hope this helps some.

I am planning my first Family Reading Night. This theme will be a little different than most Family Reading Night themes. To kinda of get everyone ready for the holidays we will be learning about christmas/kwanza/hanukkah. Will have a station for each book reading with activities and craft. I need help with a theme name and food ideas. I have a small budget, so I was thinking of maybe finger foods. I would greatly appreciate any ideas you can pass along.
