The ULTIMATE Donation List

I have had good luck with Southwest Airlines, for anyone looking for airfare to match a pass donation or hotel stay. They send 2 open tickets for flight between any 2 airports they serve with in the continental US. Find the info on their website at www.southwest.com/html/southwest-differe...RENCE-SWA-DIFFERENCE
Must be 501 c 3 organization and other restrictions.

There is a lot of useful information on here if you sift through. I was able to get the following for a fundraiser auction:
Book signed by Janet Evanovich, Tess Gerritsen, Mary Higgins Clark, by sending an e-mail through their web sites.
Keurig by applying on their website
Stampin Up by applying on their website
Basket of cheese from Cabot cheese by applying on their website
Cheesecake Factory $50 gift card- wrote to local restaurant attn: store manager
Passes to local museums and shows (Massachusetts) by sending letter attention Marketing Department:
Boston Red Sox - apply on line under community (must be in MA)-signed ball
Boston Bruins - same as above- signed puck

We had a great response to front row seats at graduation- donated by school committee (free to give away, and very popular!)

Last year a family from San Francisco donated to a friend 4 tickets to see SF Giants- was not able to find a hotel willing to pair an overnight stay- wrote to 12 chains and local hotels in SF area.

Also able to get tickets to Dr. Phil and The Doctors taping by writing to their Audience supervisor- both came from the same letter. Was not able to sell them one year- need to travel to LA. But if you are in that area, it is a nice donation- 4 VIP passes and parking at the Paramount studios

I agree with the suggestions to take the time to focus on local retailers and businesses. We just received a $500 gift certificate from a local retailer that we had not previously thought to ask. As many already know, restaurants often bring in their full value as an auction item. (not all items do this) So you can't have too many of those! Be creative and put several together as packages like "Eat on the Run" (for fast food type places) or "No Cooking for a Week". While some local places are bombarded with requests, others are less obvious and are very happy to participate and get some relatively inexpensive advertising. Also, many summer camps will donate too. Really go through a listing of local retailers. It's very worthwhile. We have received some great items and only a few are listed on this board. And people will bid on what you have at the event. Most people want to come home with something and help out the school, regardless of what is there.

I see a lot of people are having the same problem as me. We can't get airline donations and hotel vouchers for Orlando (even after writing all of the places suggested and then some). If anyone has had success getting airline vouchers, can you share your secret?

I am having a terrible time getting companies to donate. We are a small preschool, but need fundraising to keep our cost low and to keep ours doors open. I am assuming I am getting no's because we are a preschool. Any one have any ideas or a sample letter that has brought big success?
