The ULTIMATE Donation List

11 years 10 months ago #161101 by westernmass
Hi all you Super Donation go-getters. I've been lurking for a few months on the thread and have gleaned some great tips on acquisitions and follow-ups -- thanks!

I'm looking for regional specific donors. Anybody have a list for Western Massachusetts or New England ?

Time and time again, with grants, etc., I run into a wall unless I'm just soliciting small local businesses. Most of the corporations in MA only want to donate to the Metro Boston area. We're closer to CT.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Kevin -

I'm also in KY. Depending on where you are in KY you might try Lexmark. They gave us a free printer that just had to be picked up 2 weeks before the event. Otherwise, at this point, I would go in person. If you want to make it quicker, you can contact businesses through their website. I've done that a lot & had great success.

Good luck!

I sent email to Yucatan Holidays requesting specific details on their BiddingforGood donation package-

Our vacation certificates have a value of $1,048.00 usd. The Vacation includes accommodations for five days and four nights at either of our resorts, The Laguna Suites Golf and Spa or the Ocean Spa Hotel for a
family of four (two adults and two children under the age of 12). The resorts may be previewed at www.lagunasuites.com.mx or www.oceanspahotel.com. There are no blackout dates and the Recipients of the Vacation are free to travel anytime during the 18 months following receipt. The actual resort where the Recipients will stay on their vacation is selected by them, but is based upon availability on the dates they wish to
travel. The certificates include the “Stay at One, Play at Four” benefit. What this means is that although the Recipients will be staying at either the Ocean Spa Hotel or the Laguna Suites Golf and Spa, they will be able to enjoy the amenities at all four of our resorts in Cancun: Royal Sunset, Sunset Lagoon, Laguna Suites Golf and Spa and the Ocean Spa Hotel. We have a free shuttle that runs all day, every day between all four resorts.

Upon reservation, there will be a $69 reservation fee that will need to be paid as well as $110 in hotel taxes. The Vacation is for accommodations only, but the Recipients are entitled to a 40% discount on the all inclusive upgrade should they choose to do so upon reservation. The all inclusive upgrade would entitle the Recipients to unlimited food, beverages, and alcohol. It prepays all of the tips and taxes at the resort and it gives them unlimited activities at the resort as well as a 40% discount on any excursions they may be interested in such as visiting the Mayan ruins or one of our ecological parks. Further details will be provided to the Recipients when calling to reserve their travel dates.

We would be happy to send you as many vacation certificates as you think you would need.

We would only need your physical address so that I may send the vacation certificates to you via Federal Express with the supporting documentation.

Thank you.
Danielle Roussel.

I sent email (April 2012) to Elite Island Resorts requesting specific details on their donation package
  1. - Could you please tell me the details of your donation package?
  2. - What are your guidelines on charitable contribution for donation?
  3. - Are there additional expensive to the winning bidder of the donation package?
- Here is the reply from Heather Gray Director of Charitable Contributions

What we have to donate are 7-night Caribbean resort certificates. They cover accommodations only for 7-nights for 2 rooms. They do not cover any airfare or the all-inclusive meal plans, and expire one year from your event. There are no blackout dates on them, but there is surcharge if they travel for Christmas or President’s weeks. The value ranges from $3100-$5540, depending on the resort. The resorts I have them for are St. James’s Club Antigua, Verandah Resort & Spa Antigua and Morgan Bay Beach Resort St. Lucia. It is a free donation to you, the charity, to use in your fundraising.
