2014 Ultimate Donation List

9 years 7 months ago #166189 by KarenVan
What do groups do toward the end of the silent auction when baskets don't have bids on them? Do you save them for next year? Lower the minimum bid? Last year my group kept them in the office with a buy it now (which was the minimum bid). This year the committee wants to discount the minimum bid in the last 15 minutes, but I don't know if that cheapens the basket or our cause?

Thank you,
Karen

I have seen a lot of people post about getting donations from Rachel Ray - she has so many different companies on the web and the Yum-O charity says it is not doing donations currently. Can anyone tell me what address, web site or email they used to get donations?

We've tried Walmart's in the Charlotte NC and Huntersville NC area - and they did not give last year.

My Neighborhood Walmart donates $50 gift cards. We just need to make sure we have a letter.

My local Walmart made up an Easter Basket for our Basket Auction last spring. It included the movie "Hop", candy and easter erasers and pencils. I think it depends on the manager on how much they give and what they do.
